Motivational talk given by Mufti Menk on fasting. Some tips that can be extracted from the video:
  • What food to avoid when breaking fast.
  • Good food to help you through the day.
It is amazing what the technology can do to bring people closer. Without the technology, it is not possible to listen to this inspiring lecture given by a mufti of Zimbabwe.

Ismail Musa Menk was born in Harare, Zimbabwe. He is a student of knowledge trying to disseminate the Deen in the current age. Mufti Menk did his Initial studies in Harare, Zimbabwe. He attained a degree in Shariah Law from the University of Madinah Munawwarah . He went on to  specialize in Jurisprudence in Gujarat, India .

Mufti Menk is a broad minded, motivational speaker who has endeared himself to both Muslims and non Muslims. He is the Head of the Fatwa Department of The Council of Islamic Scholars of Zimbabwe known as Majlisul Ulama Zimbabwe. He is also one of the Muaththins and an Imaam at Masjid Al Falaah in Harare.

Mufti Menk has been on many speaking engagements and lecture tours around the globe. He contributes regularly towards the Islamic content of various media networks and is an experienced social worker and counsellor. He enjoys spending time with the underpriviledged, lending a helping hand and teaching them. Each year, during the holy month of Ramadhaan , he spends time with a  far away community, disseminating the  teachings of Islam.

His work is all done solely for the Pleasure of the Almighty without any remuneration or financial rewards. There are no copyrights, no charges, no royalties, no patents and no cost involved to invite him. May Allah grant us all acceptance, protect Mufti Menk and facilitate his work in sowing the seeds of knowledge.

The above profile of Mufti Menk was taken from www.muftimenk.com.
Family trip to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in February 2015. This trip was possible and made easy with the assistance of technology. Technology was extensively used in making this trip a success. The ticket was purchase online. We get to choose and change without any difficulty as we interaction with human is none. To get to Ho Chi Minh city from Kota Kinabalu we had to travel to Kuala Lumpur (KK -KL) and get another flight to Ho Chi Minh City (KL-HCM). The connecting flight was made easy because we get to decide what flight to take and at what time to travel. It was merely a change from domestic terminal to international terminal. We did not wait long, we managed to reduce the waiting time as a result of planning assisted by the technology.

Some family photos taken during the trip:

Flowers everywhere during Chinese New Year in Ho Chi Minh City
Apart from going sight seeing, we did some shopping. I really enjoyed shopping here especially the jubah, telekong etc. Most of the information as to what to buy, where to buy, places of interest to visit, I got the information from the blog. Some bloggers described their journey in detail such as where to eat, where to find muslim food, where to shop, the culture of the local people, some sellers tend to be aggressive when dealing with them, the popular market. I am very thankful to the blogger for the information given and it helps a lot.

However, based on our experience if you go to HCM city during Chinese New Year, the BenThanh market is closed (4 or 5 days) and most shops are also closed for a few days. Chinese New Year is a big celebration in HCM city.

We met many Malaysian when we were in HCM city. It felt like we were in TAR road.

Shopping, shopping and shopping RM100 for any three pairs really value for money

RM100 for three wait this was in February 2015

It's also known for its French colonial architecture, including Notre-Dame Basilica, made entirely of materials imported from France, and the neoclassical Saigon Central Post Office.
